Children increase in mobility in the 5-7 month timeframe and move quickly! It is best to babyproof before your child is mobile, but definitely best to do as soon as you notice your child taking interest in new areas of your home that could present a safety risk.

5. How long does the childproofing process take?

The duration of the childproofing process varies depending on the size of your home and the number of products needed. Typically, an in-home walkthrough and report can be completed in 1-2 hours, while installation may take a few hours to a few days, depending on the extent of the work.

6. How much does it cost to babyproof my home?

The material and labor cost will vary depending on home square footage and the needs of the family. NOVA Child Safety provides completely customized safety solutions to match every home size and budget. There is no job too small or large for us.

7. Do you have to drill into the walls and banisters or furniture?

It depends. We will discuss all options for anchoring and safe gate installation to meet the highest standards of safety, and consider the preservation of your banisters, walls, and furniture.

8. Are your products safe and reliable?

Yes! We only use top-of-the-line safety products that are tested and endorsed by reputable organizations, including the Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association (JPMA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and products we have seen work well for families. Your family’s safety is our top priority.

9. Can you install babyproofing products I’ve already purchased?

Probably not, but it depends. Each babyproofing product is ordered for the project at hand and is personally inspected by a professional babyproofer upon arrival to ensure it hasn’t been damaged, tampered with, or is otherwise potentially unsafe. If you have questions about products you have already purchased, please discuss with us.

10. Do you guarantee your work?

I provide a six month workmanship guarantee on any babyproofing products I have installed within our contract, assuming the product was used as the manufacturer intended and directed.

11. Can you help with car seat installation?

Absolutely! As a Certified Child Passenger Seat Technician (CPST), and mother of six, I provide expert guidance on selecting the best car seat for your child and vehicle, as well as installation services and child fit checks to ensure optimal safety.
